2. Scope and purpose of this website
Libebox publishes independent comparisons, reviews and recommendations of third-party online tools and services. This website has no customer accounts, public comments or checkout. If you request a free template or sign up for email updates, we process your data as described in section 7 (Free templates and email updates).
3. Hosting and website delivery
This website is hosted by Hostinger and operates on WordPress. When the website is accessed, technical data required to deliver and secure the service may be processed. This can include the IP address, requested page or file, date and time of access, referrer information, browser and device information, and technical error or security logs.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests are the reliable delivery, security, prevention of misuse and technical administration of the website. Hostinger provides website hosting and Hostinger Email provides email services. They may act as processors where the requirements of Article 28 GDPR apply.
4. Privacy-focused analytics
We use Burst Statistics to obtain aggregated information about website usage. Burst is configured in cookieless mode and uses an anonymous daily hash. No persistent analytics cookie or device fingerprint is used to recognise a visitor across days or sessions. The configuration also honours browser “Do Not Track” requests.
The information is used to understand page visits, traffic sources and engagement and to improve the website. We do not use this configuration to create advertising profiles or intentionally identify individual visitors. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the performance and usefulness of the website in a privacy-preserving manner.
We also keep aggregated affiliate CTA click counts for up to 90 days, limited to date, campaign, source category, device type and count; no IP addresses, cookies or full referrers are stored.
5. Affiliate links and external providers
Some outbound links may be affiliate links. If a user completes a purchase or contract after following such a link, Libebox may receive remuneration without increasing the price paid by the user. Affiliate links are identified or disclosed on the relevant page.
When you click an external provider or affiliate link, you leave Libebox. The provider, merchant or affiliate network may independently process data, including referral information, and may use cookies or other technologies according to its own privacy policy. Libebox does not control the processing performed on those external websites.
6. Contact by email
If you contact us at info@libebox.com, we process your email address, the content of your message and any information you voluntarily provide in order to respond. Email services are provided through Hostinger Email.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message concerns steps prior to entering into a contract or an existing contractual relationship. For other enquiries, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and documenting business communication.
Providing this information is voluntary. However, without your contact details and the information needed to understand your request, we may be unable to respond. Please do not send passwords, payment data or confidential client files by email.
7. Free templates and email updates
You can request a free download (for example the AI Use Policy Template) and, at the same time, receive a short series of emails from us about AI, automation and client trust. This section explains how we handle your data in that process.
Data we process. Your email address (the only required field); the date, time and IP address of your sign-up and of your confirmation click, to prove your consent; and information about how you interact with our emails (delivery, opens, clicks).
Legal basis and purpose. We send you the requested download and our emails only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 7(2) No. 3 UWG). Measuring opens and clicks is also based on your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example with the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to info@libebox.com. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before.
Double opt-in. After you submit the form, we send you an email with a confirmation link. You are added to our mailing list only after you click it. If you do not confirm, you are not added to the list and the pending request is deleted.
Email service provider. We send our emails through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France), which processes your data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Brevo may use sub-processors, some of which may be located outside the EEA. In that case, transfers rely on the safeguards described in Chapter V GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses. More information: Brevo privacy policy.
Opens and clicks. Our emails contain a tracking pixel and tracked links. They tell us whether an email was delivered and opened and which link was clicked. We use this to see which content is useful and to improve our emails. This data is linked to your email address. If you do not want this, do not sign up or unsubscribe at any time.
Is providing your data mandatory? No. Providing your email address is voluntary. Without it, we cannot send you the template or the emails.
8. Recipients and transfers
Where necessary, personal data is shared with Hostinger (website hosting), Hostinger Email (email delivery and mailbox services), and technical or security providers that support the operation of the website. Where these providers act on our behalf, they are engaged as processors subject to the applicable data-protection requirements.
If personal data is transferred to a country outside the European Economic Area, such a transfer will take place only where a lawful transfer mechanism under Chapter V GDPR applies, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards. Further information about an applicable transfer mechanism can be requested using the contact address above.
If you sign up for email updates, your data is also passed to Brevo as our email service provider (see section 7).
9. Retention
Technical access, error and security logs are normally retained for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is necessary to investigate an incident, prevent abuse or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Email enquiries that do not lead to a business relationship are normally deleted within 12 months after the matter is closed. Business correspondence and records subject to German commercial or tax retention obligations are retained for the applicable statutory period. Aggregated affiliate CTA click counts are retained for up to 90 days.
Email subscription data is stored until you withdraw your consent. After you unsubscribe, we delete your profile and keep only your email address on a suppression list so that we do not email you again (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Records of your consent (timestamps and IP address) are kept for up to three years after your consent ends to defend against possible legal claims (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted.
10. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. For Libebox, this is generally the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestr. 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, www.ldi.nrw.de. To exercise your rights or ask a privacy question, contact info@libebox.com.
If processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. To do so, use the unsubscribe link in any email or write to info@libebox.com.
11. Automated decision-making
We do not use personal data collected through this website for automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, its providers or data-processing activities change. The current version is published on this page.
